sports are an amazing missionary and PR tool for the Church. One need only look at how our 80s and 90s teams put BYU on the map, academically as well as increasing awareness of of the church.

To me it makes all the sense in the world to invest heavily in BYU sports, to the point that the BYU revenue sports are top 20 programs every year.

But people in high places have to get on board if that’s going to happen.
