this is old news. Only 1 big 12 team left (Iowa St.) to announce its
non-conference game. None of the other 9 teams chose BYU for their lone non-conference game.
So the big-12 playing gives momentum to football happening at all in the fall, but it looks like it will not help BYU with any individual games.
