Haribo fan.
I’m about to commit a book sin but I honestly didn’t love the book. I think I may like the movie more than the book.
I’m sure when it came out it was groundbreaking and new, but everything in it has been troped to death since so I wasn’t amazed by it.
I probably had unrealistic expectations.

when the book is already a classic, read the book first

Next question - do I read the appendix and glossary before the book?

It should have been cancelled - it's considered an anti-gay novel by some.

I've seen people argue that it became more timely as it aged

The narrative was fine but I didn't care about a single one of the characters.
