It’s an easy job there at Hindenburg (by the way, think about the name - the design of the company is to see companies crash and burn). It’s one dude named Nathan who spent time in jail already. He does research and finds ways to spin truths into half truths using words like “may” and “if this is true” to protect himself against securities fraud. He then heavily shorts the company. Then he releases his “research” and the stock tanks, usually recovering fairly quickly his lies are debunked, but that doesn’t matter to him - he’s gotten out of his short position and made a quick few hundred grand.

It’s the definition of short and distort, which is the opposite of pump and dump, both of which are illegal. The only reason this Nathan chump gets away from it is he learned a thing or two from his first stint in jail and is verrrrry careful about his wording and the disclosures he puts in the claims he releases basically stating he’s a shorter and he wants the company’s stock to go down.

He’s a terrible person and no one should take a thing he says for anything, unless it’s to use the dips he causes to get favorable positions in a stock since they generally rise shortly after the initial selloff happens.

Full disclosure - I bought a very small position in NKLA today after hours to test out the strategy of buying Hindenburg-caused dips. We’ll see how it goes.
