Wow. I just built my own deck with zero prior experience; just lots of reading

and watching YT videos for certain aspects of the construction. I still have to build the stairs (cutting stringers now), and install the fascia, but, I did a better job than that guy.

Now that I know how to build a deck, I'll probably never do it again, but, that's not what I do for a living either.

I think with redwood it is fine, but the stairs shouldn't just sit on the dirt like that. The wood will rot
