Since Zonacougar and a few others asked for a review of my new Delano Peak, thought I'd share. Have about 200 miles on it since new.
TL;DR - Great all-rounder and very capable. Jack of all trades, but kind of a master of none. Excellent value for money.
First, a note about my local trails. Mostly aggressive XC style trails. Lots of short, punchy technical climbs followed by fast flowy descents and creek crossings. Tight, twisty, rooty forest sections and flat rock gardens in between. No fire road climbs or huge elevation changes.
Overall I've been really impressed with this bike--the geometry is thoroughly modern. Long reach and wheelbase makes for really great stability at speed. It also handles rock gardens and the few drops I do really well, it's always composed and never overwhelmed. Component spec on my build (elite race) is spot on and excellent value for money. I'd challenge anyone to find a better specced or performing bike for the money.
The suspension isn't nearly as efficient or smooth as my wife's Pivot Trail 429, and is pretty active all the time, even with the shock in the middle position. That said, I'm not out on my local trails chasing PRs or Strava segment sniping, just having fun and doing hooligan stuff, so I don't mind a bit of pedal bob. For its intended purpose this bike suits really well. I'd be totally confident on my local trails or even spending a few days in the bike park per year
Final note on Fezzari's customer service. When I unboxed the bike, I noticed the seat stay had a pretty big chip in it--through the paint. I assume it's from shipping, but I called up Fezzari and they made it 100% right. They sent me a brand new seat stay free of charge and also paid to have my LBS swap it out. Can't say enough good things about how they've treated me as a customer.
