My concern lies with the investment risk that state ownership creates. In the short term, it can be good (see Venezuala for time), but the life cycle seems to degrade and to do so rather rapidly once it starts. As a result, my opinion is that because the largest economy outside of our own (China) uses a socialist system for its participation in the market, it renders the international markets riskier than they otherwise would be. There could still be some profit and it may be worth it for some. However, the risk is too high for me.
