I enjoyed it because it was my church school and favorite college. But it wasn't as personal. Maybe for those who went to BYU before or during, it has a lot more meaning then they those who came after.

The challenge is for today's fans it has set up an expectation. Most of my BYU friends who attended in the 90s and 2000s are largely disappointed in the program. They shouldn't be, given the limitations and what makes BYU unique, but they are.

Totally different than Utah. Where there we no expectations. When Utah was WAC, it was small and lacking. But expectations were low. To watch the program run through the Majerus era, a Final Four win and then onto the first BCS win...that was outright special.

The second BCS came with no expectation. Remember it was all BYU heading into the 2008 seasons. So that was a blue collar, come out of nowhere season. P12 is something you only dream of. P12 success and the NFL pipeline is outright incredible.

BYU fans play it down...but CSU, UNM, AFA, SDSU guys, our old peers, would kill to have a fraction of that. They get excited the once in a while they get ranked. Utah is ranked every season.

Knowing the BYU story and history, it's an incredible, overachieving program. Utah too. That's why it's so hard to compare.
