I was just giving you crap. 3 MFs is key. The others depend on your keeper.
And probably time/score. I’d probably play it exactly the way you are.

I think putting a bench on the field might raise the ire of the referees...

Are the other teams playing with 7? Feels like 2-3-1 with 6 guys is bad.

2 DFs, 3 MFs, 1 ST.

I have zero expectation that my GK will make any actual saves.

Forward or on the outside in midfield

Forward? Interesting. What's the logic there?

Fewest touches and you can put your best player behind him at center mid anyway

Left wing & right back. Stay strong down the middle. LW because you probably want a strong right footed player at RW.

Never mind on the RB unless you have 3 defenders

I tried 3 DFs a couple of season back. Totally killed our ability to attack.

What age group? When I coached 7s, kids didn't want to always play the same

U10 boys.

I probably prefer 3-1-2 but it depends on personnel. I actually hate having a single striker up front for kids

Always up front. One (or both) of the forwards.

We play different 1-3-1 for sure. I would hide on the wing. Not that that means anything for the OP question.

I might also do a 2-2-2 and put that player up top.

I've thought about trying that. I'm thinking the second FW would be a CAM.

We play 7 in our age group, two on D and four along the front.

Interesting. I feel like that role could work well for one or two of my guys.

This week I switch my U10 comp team to a 3,3 — no real midfielders.

7-10 yrs old is a ridiculous age range for any sport. Yikes.

Agree. Although, when I started soccer, I played with boys two grades older.
