What’s funny is that the temps in Boise are similar to South Lake Tahoe, yet
many locals who live in the Tahoe struggle to deal with the winters there. Granted, they get a ton of snow, but they also have access to the world class beauty of Lake Tahoe plus some good skiing/outdoor rec just minutes away.

The reason this comes to mind is that I had a really good job op in South Lake Tahoe but my wife decided she didn’t want to deal with the winters so we passed. As i looked at the job, I prob talked specifically to at least 30 people about the winters and most said they are tolerable but rough and some even consider leaving the area because of them.

Meanwhile, I hear about how “mild” the Boise winters are as thousands from the coastal West flood to Boise. Yet, the temps are about the same as Tahoe. Funny how perceptions can be so different. I guess it’s all about the snow?
