It worked well until later teams figured out what BYU was doing.
USC started a freshman QB on the road, first time in a hostile BYU crowd environment. People got wise to BYU under Tuiaki. If BYU rushes 3 and drops 8, Troy will run for 200 yards, control clock, own BYU's defense during time consuming drives, limit BYU's offensive series and may just win. I will absolutely openly lobby for Tuiaki's firing if we see any more "bend but don't break" defense. He burned that bridge last year.
