If BYU is 9-0 and has average margin of victory of 25+ then it’ll be brought up. If for no other reason than to have something to talk about. Even if the convo goes like this:

A: what about this undefeated BYU team that’s been tearing through its makeshift schedule after all the p5 teams on their schedule backed out on them?”

B: “Boy, that’s a great question and it’s a shame they’ve not been able to prove themselves against better competition. What a case of what might have been. They just don’t have the schedule there greg this year but next year is looking up.”

A: “I agree. It is a shame they didn’t play anyone. Let’s talk about LSUs chances of getting in sitting at 6-2.

That’s what we hope for this year. And even that is a stretch. But it’ll be press and prep for next season. That’s just how college football works.
