Because with 9 G5 games to fill every year, there are going to be a ton of garbage games. We'd be better off actually getting into the AAC where we are guaranteed several quality G5 games every year as opposed to only getting those games occasionally as part of their non-conference schedules. In fact, those Independent schedules would be so bad I'd actually prefer MWC membership over a 3 P5 game Indy schedule because at least the MWC games are regional and there's some history with those teams. Nobody is getting excited for schedules full of Eastern Michigan, Middle Tennessee & Georgia Southern.
