I say bring Boise State and San Diego State with us to the AAC.
Play Utah and Utah State most years in the OOC and play Boise State, SDSU, Houston and SMU every year in the AAC.
So, the annual schedule includes:
Utah
Utah State
Boise State
San Diego State
Houston
SMU
The other 6 games include two other marquee P5 opponents and 4 out of: UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis, Navy, Tulsa, Tulane, Temple, South Florida and ECU.
That lineup is likely to give BYU at least 3 or 4 ranked opponents each year, 3+ rivalry games (I think BYU would develop some new AAC rivals) and frequent road games in California and Texas and occasional road games in every other region of the country.

I wish BYU had 3 P5s a year on the schedule.
Utah plus two.
Barring an addition in November or in a bowl game, this year is different (duh), with zero.
Next year there are 7 on the schedule.
