When getting a home ready to sell, what is usually worth it to fix or replace?
Planning on putting our home on the market in the next 6 months or so. I have some carpet that I will definitely replace - we've been wanting to do that anyway. The floors squeak in a few places, but I can't really fix it unless I start pulling up tile in the kitchen or removing flooring in the living room.

Everything in the home works just fine, though it my not be the latest and greatest. We have upgraded lighting, electrical, and updated some bathrooms since moving in.

The furnace is old, but never had any problems with it and it doesn't cost a lot to heat my home.

A/C is old, but it has never given me problems either.

Roof probably needs to be replaced in 5 to 10 years.
