I'm not going to argue that four down lineman and press man coverage didn't change the game. Those adjustments undid Tune and shut the run down - though Houston weirdly never committed to the run game even though it was working.
But individually Dawe blew up four different plays that were big in stopping Houston drives deep in their own territory. He lined up at different spots and beat the block to disrupt Tune and one time dump the running back for a loss.
Some other observations: sideline reporter said Houston players were trash talking BYU offense in the second half. That report came right as game turned. The shanked punt was huge. The Udo interception was also big - caused by a middle blitz. Udo also forced Tune out of the pocket on a blitz. It was just crazy how those defensive adjustments enabled some BYU defenders to finally make some plays.
