#4 playoff spot
Right now according to FPI, Clemson is projected to go 12-0, Ohio St to go 8-1, and Alabama to go 10-1. Those are the de-facto top 3 in the playoff race right now (which is sad to say since Ohio St has yet to play a game this year). Probably would be 1. Clemson, 2. Alabama, 3. Ohio St right now. The real debate is who gets the #4 spot in the playoff.

Right now BYU is projected to go 9-1 according to FPI (favored in every game but "odds" say they will lose 1 w/ most likely loss being either Boise or SDSU). If they go 9-1 then playoff is not an option and NY6 becomes questionable. However, if BYU happens to go undefeated, do they have a chance at the #4 spot? Other teams in consideration:

-Oklahoma St (8-3) - Big 12 champ, but would they really put in a 3-loss team over undefeated BYU?
-Oregon (6-1) - Pac-12 champ, but only 6 wins due to limited games. How much would the committee penalize them for limited number of games?
-Georgia (8-3) - Probably the best of the teams "on-paper" but would the committee really put a 3-loss non-conference champ in the playoff over an undefeated team?
-Wisconsin (7-2) - Fewer losses than OSU and UGA but also fewer wins and not a conference champ. Were they 9-2 instead of 7-2 they might have a chance, but probably the weakest resume of this group.
