There is Elite Clemson and Bama

then the next elite 2 tier knocking on the door like Georgia, LSU and tOHU (seems like that gap is pretty big)

then the upper tier of the P5s with a very big gap to those guys up there which are the other conference champs like OU, The top 3ish schools from B1G, PAC,ND and the #1 G5 ....

then there is the middle of the pac which is a huge swath... from the conference champ contenders to the 3-4 loss teams that had some bad luck. some decent mixing of P5 and G5 here.

Then the bottom of the P5s and the middle to bottom of the G5’s who are all very forgettable


BYU IS in that huge swath, we’ll likely never be among the elite bc we won’t cheat or spend that much just like the majority of other P5s.... but that next level.... that’s the goal which may not take us to the playoff with only 4 but that is relevant and always in the discussion
