my 8 yr old step son used to wake up crying almost every night and if we didn't
get to him in time to comfort him back to sleep he'd be up for 30 mins to 2 hours calming down. His1st grade teacher had a weighted blanket that she would used to help kids calm down. She told us how good it worked on him in class we got him one for his bed and it has helped soo much. Best thing we ever got him and he loves it.
