Which is why they didn't come up with better material on the issues of slavery/racism, more of an inclusion of women in their writings, no discussions on how a gay person fits into the theology or their afterlife identity, and much more.

Our first attempts at explaining things are usually the most incorrect attempts and ideas improve and evolve from there but many then resist updating, and those first inferior ideas get set in stone (scripture) and you're not allowed to go against many of them even as they are proven to not be accurate or particularly useful/healthy. (We allow ourselves to evolve from walking everywhere all the way up to tesla cars but not so much when it comes to early answers given to us by earlier men about the most intriguing questions of existence.)
