As a young football player, playing 6 P5 schools would have been be a bigger

Motivator or "something to play for" than trying to win a G5 conference. Pre covid, our 2020 schedule featured opponents from 3 different P5 conferences. 10 of the 12 games were with in driving distance for the vast majority of the players home. If I were a recruit of player at this time, I would definitely prefer the independent schedule to the AAC one.
