They want, encourage, and vote for as much fiscally irresponsible measures as democrats. Why? Because it makes their supporters happy. Who are their supporters? Us. And boy are we happy to pat ourselves on the back because we approved of and got a bill through Congress that we like but that still adds trillions to the national debt. And we call ourselves fiscal conservatives because we drive the debt in different ways.

Honestly, Democrats desire government interventions more because they think government can make up for the failings of our Christian-in-name-but-not-in-deed populace. In reality, we are as heathen a nation in action as ever there was.

Neither Christian values nor government interaction is going to solve our problems. Civility and Christian action will. And yet here we are discussing govt spending instead of looking at where we can pick up the pieces and help out so the democrats don’t feel like they need the govt to step in and fix it all.
