it depends on your location, but many Airbnb homes were hurt during the
shutdown when travel was stopped or severely limited.
Maybe renting during a shut-down would be better if your renters had stable employment; however, if the government also blocks evictions during a shut-down, then maybe renting would in some cases not be any better during a shut-down.
