This specific tragedy happened at the U
It’s not that bad things can’t happen at other schools, but rather that this specific horrific thing happened at the U and could and should, have been prevented by the very institution she trusted to protect her. That institution then got up in front of the world and seemingly blamed her for getting herself killed, claiming that her death couldn’t have been prevented. Her parents had to then sue the U to force them to tell the truth.

Did you read the details of this girl’s death? The level of incompetence and callousness shown by the U in this case were extraordinarily. So extraordinary, that it was picked up by the national news. Today’s national news stories were not about the lurid details of her death but rather that her parents settled a lawsuit forcing the U to admit fault in her death and own their institutional incompetence and callousness. This is not a common occurrence for any University, except at the U.

All rivalry talk aside, the U has a constant stream of bizarre horrific incidents associated with it. One bizarre incident is too many, two such incidents is a tragedy, three plus such incidents are a pattern. A pattern that makes parents say ‘I don’t know what is going on at the U, but none of my kids will ever go to school there.’

Then there are the U apologists who try to refute any criticism of the U. Justifying and minimizing any deficiency, no matter how depraved or sordid. Some of these U apologists even go so far as to lurk on other schools fan message boards, obtusely policing them for any perceived slight against the U.
