I feel like this is the first year the coaches feel like they have the personnel & depth to expand things with — rather than to be constantly trying to cover for & hide the deficiencies.
Nothing proved that more than their willingness to switch to man at Houston even though we lacked Tonga. I'm sure they had their fingers crossed on that — but we really needed it to work. We very likely lose that game without the switch. Houston simply didn't have the energy left going into the 4th — to mount a counter.
As far as I could tell, then, our staff called a great game when we most needed them to. Hopefully they get it done in Boise too.
