You can leave it off for a while then run the heat and see if water starts
Leaking out the bottom of the furnace. If so you know what's happening, that ice is melting.
But you don't want to run your furnace while it's blocked for too long, it has safety sensors that should prevent damage but not worth the risk if they fail.

I assume you've checked to make sure the drain line is clear and isn't tripping the float sensor? Have to pour vinegar
