We ended up making the four-team playoff this year, which feels like a big accomplishment. This time last year we were the winless team that everybody felt sorry for. We started out 0-2 this season with a lot of new players and me trying to figure out what we were doing, but finished 4-1-1.
Our semifinal game is tonight and we're going against the one team we really struggled to compete against in the regular season. I think we can hang with them, but I know some of the boys are nervous about it. Hopefully they can relax and have fun. It's actually kind of fun as a coach/parent to see them getting into it enough to feel anxious. Who says rec league doesn't matter?
It was up in the air whether our association would even run the leagues this year, but it's been great. I've had a ton of fun, and feel like it's something cool to share with my son. Hoping enough of our team decides to come back in the spring, so we can have some continuity.
How have everybody else's seasons finished?
