Take out the time travel, & how is the Terminator all that different from Judeo-Christianity and all its promise language? And Mormonism's spin on it, particularly?

Seems to me like a rather simple SciFi expansion of some of the foundational religious ideas we're raised on.

Granted, that's not new news.

Terminator 1 was one of my favs as a pre-teen too (which is when it came out for me). When I watched it for the first time in many years like 5-10 years ago — what struck me most was how grossly violent it was. Man, I would not let 11 year olds watch that thing like I did (particularly knowing how appealing it was to my 11 year old mind).
