No keyboard included by default. If you already have an apple keyboard/mouse
you could reuse it. The biggest change to be aware of right now is the switch to their own chips, away from Intel chips. The Mac Mini now uses an "M1" chip of Apple's own design. It's fast and efficient (low power use) but software compatibility is something to be aware of. They have a translator software program that allows software written for Intel chips to run on the new M1, and seems to work well enough. However, be aware that support for certain software might phase out over time if the developer doesn't update it to run on the new processor architecture. However, early reviews for the new mac mini are very good. The new M1 machines do much better on graphics than the Intel machines.

If you buy the older generation Mac Mini with Intel processors, be aware that the processors aren't as fast as the iMac processors, hard drives are usually smaller, and RAM isn't user upgradeable. They also don't come with dedicated graphics cards, so you won't be gaming on them. Frankly, for your purposes, I wouldn't get an older version.

The hard drive is really small on the mac mini base model though, that is unfortunate.
