I'm not sure how long you've been watching football, but that's what happens when you put back ups in when you're already ahead. The coaching staff stops running anything but vanilla plays. They no longer want to give future teams anything more on tape, so he's in there playing with second and third teamers, with a vanilla playbook.
If you want to compare him to apple's, he needs to be playing with apples, not oranges. He needs to be playing with a schemed playbook and first teamers if you are going to pronounce final judgment.
If not, best bet is to allow those people who are watching everything everyday in practice to make those calls. You watching 10 plays does not trump them watching the entire repertoire.
