Eddie Intervention Needed
In a very general sense, I would tend to agree with you.
And I honestly don't believe that any of this has to do with anything that happened in 1984 or any other year. This is just about this year, 2020.

But the reality is that they threw BYU under the bus when they used social media to say that they reached out to BYU and BYU said "no thanks". What they failed to state is that they reached out to BYU to be the back up to the back up plan, while they are actually preparing to play a different PAC12 team. Their statement - made in public - was self-serving and intended to crack on BYU.

Compare that to Tom's statement - that lays out criteria to setting up a game without specifically calling out Washington. If he wanted to respond in-kind, it would be easy to point the finger at them as reaching out disingenuously without really intended to play a game as they put BYU in their back pocket as a back up plan that they can cancel on 2 days before the game if it suits them. Meanwhile, BYU takes all the risks and makes all the effort. They have to make travel plans, book hotels, etc. They have to amend COVID protocols and testing to meet the PAC12's specifications. And do all that for a game that's a huge "maybe" with about a 15% chance of actually being played?

Nah - Washington is just playing games here. And it's disappointing that BYU is the one taking most of the heat for Washington's games.
