A couple of confusing Jazz related trades this weekend.........
First, the Pistons traded Tony Bradley to the Sixers straight across for Zhaire Smith. The same Tony Bradley that the Jazz had to attach a 2nd round pick to in order to dump him to the Pistons. So essentially the Pistons were able to trade "future considerations" for a 2nd rounder in this year's draft and Zhaire Smith, a guy who was a first round pick two years ago.

Secondly, the Knicks sent Ed Davis to the T-Wolves for Jacob Evans and Omari Spellman (who combined will earn about $3 million in 20-21) and a 2nd round pick. Jazz fans will remember that we just tied 2 2nd round picks to Ed Davis neck in order to get the Knicks to take him in a trade in return for "cash considerations". That means that the Knicks turned cash into 3 first-round picks, Omari Spellman, and Jacob Evans.

I get that the Jazz didn't want to bring back salaries when ditching Davis and Bradley, but it's a little hard to swallow to watch other teams take guys that we basically paid them to trade for, turn around and trade those players for additional assets like, two days later. The Knicks and Pistons got paid a combined 3 2nd rounders from the Jazz to take players that they turned around for an additional 2nd rounder each, plus young players on cheap contracts.
