Basically, a tournament like March madness but put on/sponsored by a private entity like NIT. Do what NCAA should be doing. Yes you could call it second tier. But if you had conference champs automatically qualify for an invite and some at large/indy spots also, I think it'd generate significant interest and ratings. If you had 12 or 16 teams playing in this tournament- some of them teams that had beaten a team or two in the beauty pageant CFP, it'd have significant relevance. Probably eventually supplant the CFP as the recognized national champ. Or it would force CFP to expand.
