smaller grain bullet will not go further. Higher muzzle velocity out of the
barrel, but if you want to shoot for distance, you need momentum (product of speed and mass), not just velocity. Long range target shooters tend to shoot bullets on the heavier side (the bullets with the best/highest BC).
