I disagree. I believe that was the original intention of the committee, but ...
.. the heat from the media cannot be ignored by the power brokers behind the committee.

I do want a game this weekend, any game! Nevertheless....

The committee is the public face of a bunch of cigar chomping fatties that hold the purse strings. The position on the committee is considered an honor, but when you get beat like a rag doll by the press, it carrie's a role none of those people need in their lives. The real billions are the people that are not talked about...the owners of the CFP. Those are the dudes setting the course. They are also responsible for the horrible PR right now. They are also the same people or connected thereto, that were behind division of spoils under the old College Bowl Series, then the Bowl Championship Series and ultimately the stage two more games, make 3x as much money College Football Playoff. Thise people in smoke filled rooms are the real (explitive goes here) power brokers. The committee is the window dressing. But because the media has been universally against the execution of the CFP Over its first now six years, the ultimate solution is to expand it to six/eight games and make 9x the money made in the old BCS. It's the money that will eventually do all the talking.

In the meantime, BYU will be moved up, will eventually reach 8-10 and probably get a Fiesta or Cotton Bowl berth. That is my prediction. Never underestimate the power of the talking heads who represent the organizations from that the CFP derives every dollar of revenue - ABC Sports/ESPN, CBS, FOX Sports and NBC. The CFP is not the source of revenue. They are!
