Not schedule an OOC game at the expense of one of their own sitting on the sidelines.
That’s a really a black and white concept. For example the big 10 will not play an OOC game period. Pretty easy. Well the Pac 12 Will not play an out of conference game if it means one of their members who is their priority sits on the sidelines.
The entire gripe from BYU fans about the PAC 12 couldn’t guarantee a game is a mute point. It wasn’t negotiable yet it appears BYU was trying to negotiate it. PAC moved on to SDSU who basically said:
“what time would you like us to be in Seattle on Saturday provided about her PAC 12 team doesn’t become available by Thursday.”
Sure Utah came available but so did Colorado. At that point with all negotiations agreed to it was easy to put San Diego with Colorado. At that point with all negotiations agreed to it was easy to for the PAC 12 to put San Diego with Colorado
