I agree, I'm not sure Alabama is a better job than Georgia.
It has more historical success, but that can also be a negative.

Georgia and Alabama have the same resources in terms of cash.
Both states have strong recruiting bases to pull from, though Georgia has a few more top players.

Competition?
Georgia has no other strong programs in the state (Georgia Tech isn't even in the SEC), while Alabama has to deal with Auburn.

Georgia is in the SEC East which is the JV division, whereas Alabama is in the west which is stronger historically. The path to the SEC championship is much easier in the east.

Alabama has a stronger fanbase due to historic success, but that also means unrealistic expectations. You'll never be as good as Saban or Bryant. Georgia has historically underperformed, so you just have to be better than Mark Richt to be a legend.

And all things being equal I'd rather live in Athens and close to Atlanta than in Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area.
