The high-profile players exerting their control over their franchises is my
biggest turnoff to the NBA over the past 3-4 years:
- Kyrie doesn't approve of the coach... so he disappears mid-season indefinitely.
- Harden doesn't like the direction his team is going in, so he shows up several weeks late to camp, is grotesquely out of shape, and forces a trade.
- PG publicly announces he wants to play with Kawhi, so he forces his team to trade him specifically to an in-conference rival.
- AD publicly announces he wants to play with Lebron, refuses to play for two weeks, forcing his team to trade him specifically to an in-conference rival.
- All the stars think the season is too much of a grind, so they force their teams to give them DNPs every 10 games or so.

It's pathetic. The NBA has been bleeding viewers and this is a huge reason why.
