The players are the product, they bring in the money. I don’t have a problem
with them exerting that power a bit. I think it goes too far at times, but what’s the best solution?

Should players just shut up and play through any issues they have?

Teams can trade players at any time and they do it all the time. Shouldn’t there be some counter-balance if a player wants out?

A player is stuck with a team if he signs a contract, but the team isn’t stuck with a player.

Players get stuck with the team that drafted them for essentially 8-9 years. Restricted free agency is such a huge asset to the team. Unless a player is willing to risk literally 100’s of millions of dollars, they are going to sign with the team that drafted them.

The rules the nba has set up have created an atmosphere where the only way to look out for yourself is to start causing problems publicly. I wish we had a better way to solve these problems, but I’m not sure what that is.
