Well, there was a time immediately after Gifford Nielsen we didn't have a clear cut QB in the Spring. Nobodies like Jim

McMahon, Marc Wilson, and Steve Young in the pipeline . All 3 NFL QB's, 3 1st round draft picks (Young technically went to USFL, but would have been 1st round). 2 of the 3 won the Super Bowl as the starting QB's. So I would challenge the notion we don't have strong QB options, even in January before the season starts.
