children was at the Tillamook factory in OR. My wife and I were visiting locations in OR after dropping my parents off for a cruise up to Alaska. During the multistate drive to get to the ship, my mother had commented to my then 4 year old oldest daughter that the auto flush toilets at the rest stop flushed with such force that it looked like it would suck someone right down.

My daughter took it literally and refused to use the toilet for several hours. We finally convinced her to use the toilet when we showed her a gentle manual flush toilet after several tears and fits. She was finally brave enough to go.

Fast forward to Tillamook a few days later. My daughter says she needs to use the bathroom and I drew the straw to take her. The place was crowded. Everything was fine until we got in the stall and she noticed that it was an auto-flush toilet. Whereupon she started to scream in a very terrified way, "No, I don't want to! Leave my pants alone!" I was horrified. All of the men started staring and some followed as I drug her out of the bathroom to her mother.

I inform my wife I would not be taking her to the bathroom ever again. It took me several minutes walking alone outside to cool off. My wife wanted us to go back in and finish. My wife still thinks the story is funny. I just hope none of those men ever remember me.
