For the OP if they want BYU to recruit their son he should fill out the form linked above, as a sophomore BYU can’t initiate contact he has to initiate until he becomes a recruitable athlete as a Jr in High School

You should encourage your friend to take his son to a BYU camp if they have any this summer. If not, definitely next
