They do, but that’s also how they make their money. RSNs pay billions for exclusive rights
So they can force people to buy their cable packages. Without it being a monopoly on local rights, they’d lose a ton of money, those rights would go down, and the NBA would lose billions.
Maybe they’d make up that money through local LeaguePass subscriptions, maybe not. I certainly don’t know. But it’s a fricken ton of money.
Certainly is anti-consumer though.
