Well considering exactly 1 person so far has chosen any of the 'gain weight' answers-

I'd say that Nat Gas Man is probably correct for the national perception of where 'skin and bones' begins.

Really, the only people I know who are below the 'normal' range do look like skeletor. Now if I spent time in Bangladesh, or even Japan (where fat shaming is still widely practiced) I'm sure my standards would change. But right now the cultural definition (in the US) don't at all match the scientific ones.
