I'm not a big fan of counting Negro League stats for MLB record keeping

And there indisputably are a lot of great Negro League players who never or barely saw time in MLB. But a lot of those great players also faced a fair amount of sub-MLB talent along the way. Also, the record keeping for the Negro Leagues has a lot more holes in it.

Not a major bone of contention for me but I don't think it's the right decision.

Agreed. For basketball, ABA stats aren't included in player's NBA totals, right?
