I've only ever watched it 3 times
First time for the premiere, and just felt disappointed. Second time in IMAX with tickets purchased before I saw it the first time, solidified my disappointment. Third time streamed it during my Star Wars rewatch prior to Episode 9, just made me angry. I don't currently plan on ever watching the sequel trilogy again. The absolute and complete disregard for the established characters, the lack of continuity between films, the Marvelesque use of humor, and bizarre decisions made to shoehorn in scenes to a plot that was barely functional to begin with, just make it painful to watch. It's a technically beautiful film, with incredible special effects, and a movie lover can absolutely enjoy and love it. However if your truly a Star Wars fan, I have a hard time believing that you love it. Of course I enjoy it when fantasy/sci fi follows it's own internal rules/logic, and hate it when it doesn't.
