Just want to throw this out there
Intercollegiate sports is undergoing another arms race in coaching salaries and facilities. At some point it becomes immoral/unethical to throw more money at the coaches when there are other legitimate needs that need funding and to be stave off bankruptcy.

I am not qualified to say where that line is but opine that several schools have already crossed that rubicon. While I believe BYU needs to appropriately compensate its coaches, engaging in the self destructive arms race of coaching salaries is inconsistent with the programs goals. Larry Scott was all about the compensation and look how that turned out.

As I posted yesterday there are 5 or so competing priorities that drive job selection. Two of those are money and opportunity. Just listening to Pope talk, he does not place all of his emphasis on just those two but takes a healthier, more balanced, approach.

As a general observation, if your significant other hates your job and where they live, you will ultimately fail.
