reid goes to KC, had a job offer within hours. here's my recollection of his moves over the next few years:
reid takes a decent kc team with a vet qb to the playoffs.
he scouts and and finds Mahomes, and moves up from 27 to buffalo's spot at 10. They had to move up because they probably thought houston would take mahomes at 12 (they then took watson). buffalo, btw, needed a qb that year, but didn't like any of them in the draft enough to take one. the league prevailing opinion was that there was not a standout qb that year. trabisky was taken at 2, then mahomes 10, then watson 12, the kizer irrc.
then he identifies tyreke hill (probably fastest guy in the league) and makes him into an everydown WR rather than a return specialist/gadget player.
he drafts a hill clone in hardman.
he lets alex smith go, after he had taken them to the playoffs, and hands the keys to a rookie (mahomes).
designs a fast-break offense that is essentially indefensible, based on hill's ability to go over the top on anyone, and kelce being the best TE in the league, and mahomes ability to back up and stay away from the pass rush far enough to get time to throw to guys who are not guardable for more than 4 seconds....but you need a huge laser arm, which mahomes has.
and the rest is history.
not sure you shoulda fired him, philly.
