I always felt that if someone were even mildly soft, they'd get chewed up and spit out. Gotta be pretty mentally strong to weather the pressures there. It always felt to me that they were always cynical....when thing were bad, they were really bad.....and when things were going well, they dwelled on where things were likely going to go wrong at any instant, so they couldn't savor anything.

I was there during the interesting times when both McMahon and Detmer were QB's for Philly in the early to mid 90's (including Vai S), Shawn Bradley was the #3 draft pick, and Dale Murphy played a few seasons, mostly injured for the Phillies...
