I’ve been teaching my 10-year old a lot
He doesn’t know all the specifics, but I want him to know things fairly soon. He does have some money that we’re investing and he’s starting to understand that.

Couple weeks ago he was riding bikes with the neighborhood kids. He wasn’t being careful, and he bumped into somebody’s car and cracked their side view mirror. We got the estimate yesterday for $700. So I talked with him about how much that will cost, and how that’s money we can’t invest now because we have to get our neighbor a new mirror. Asked him what he thought he could do to contribute.

“Well I don’t really like to earn money that’s not for me.”
